WRAP Week: Get Involved

This week is the 24th annual White Ribbon Against Pornography (WRAP) Week (October 30-November 6), an initiative of many like-minded organizations that seek to uphold human dignity and push back on the pornification of our culture and its resulting harms.  All week, pureHOPE’s blog will focus specifically on the evil of pornography and ways you can make a difference in your family, your church, your campus, and your community.

WRAP week started with the courage and conviction of one woman, and today provides encouragement and resources to many who want to promote and protect truth and beauty from the encroachment of lies and degradation.  All week, we will highlight some of the tools, strategies, and special events that you can use to make a difference in your life and the lives of those around you.

Everything begins with prayer, including the PURE life of prayer, understanding, resolve, and engagement.  We will offer prayer suggestions all week, and hope you will join the thousands of others across the land that joining together to repent and seek God’s mercy and healing for our nation (II Chronicles 7:14).

Lord, I commit my ways to You anew this week.  Thank You for Your love and grace, and Your desire to purify the sinner and set the captive free.  I pray that You move mightily this week, that the hearts and minds of Your people would turn to You and seek You with all of their heart, soul, and strength.  This week, protect the many individuals and organizations involved in battling the evil of pornography and commercial sexual exploitation, and grant them an increased unity and effectiveness in their efforts.  Be with the wounded, those who suffer from the guilt and shame of sexual sin–theirs and others–in their lives; heal them and restore them to Yourself.  Protect the vulnerable from the predators and exploiters who lurk around every corner, and renew the conviction of Your church, to be a light shining on a hill in the midst of a dark and destructive culture.  I love You and ask all of this in Jesus’s name, to Your praise and glory, amen.
